Bug of the Day

Aphidius - Commercial Aphid Wasp (Braconidae):

These tiny wasps are parasitoids of aphids. They insert their eggs into aphid which causes them to become mummified husks filled with many small wasp larvae. Aphidius species (usually A. colemani or A. ervi) are used commercially in greenhouses to control aphid populations.
